MDGJ pg 41 essay first draft Yu Hyelee 200902149

Myoungdonggyoja

Myoungdong is very famous and crowed area in Seoul, Korea. Therefore, there are so many well-known and various types of restaurants. However among those restaurants, there's one particular restaurant named 'Myoungdonggyoja' that always filled with many people and I love most.

Myoundonggyoja(MDGJ) doesn't sell many kinds of dishes. A few kinds of noodles and one mandu are all they have. Kalguksu is the most famous menu which is a hot noodle dish with chicken soup, pork and mandu garnishes. It is very well known food in Korea. However unlike other kalguksu, MDGJ uses chicken to make its soup and I like this chicken based soup. This soup looks transparent yellowish because it is made very carefully by removing its dirty oil. On top of it, there are four dumplings. It is very thin and small so the soup could soak into those. When I take a bite of it, my mouth is filled with beef juice. And the special flat noodles are chewy and go well with the soup. Besides, there is very special kimchi for it. This kimchi is extremely hot because of much garlic. Literally, kimchi is covered with garlic. However, with kalguksu, it makes a perfect harmony. With a full mouth of MDGJ's kalguksu, I become the happiest person in the world!

When I was young, my mother and father brought me to MDGJ after Sunday's morning service. Now, I bring my friends to there. And I expect someday I will go to MDGJ with my daughter and son and of course with my husband. I'm sure that my love towards MDGJ's kalguksu will never fade away because even now my mouth is watering.

    1. I really liked your detailed description of ingredients, shapes, colors and tastes of the dishes As I read through it ,I could easily imagine how dishes at MDGJ would look and taste like.
    2. Your main point seems to be that you like so much that you will frequent this place for many years to come.
    3. I particularly liked this line"With a full mouth of MDGY's kalguksu, I become the happiest person in the world", because it clearly shows the readers how much you like this food and made me want to try it someday.
    4. none
    5. Overall , i think this is truly a fine example of a descriptive essay, but it might be a good idea for you to write about the ambiance , the interior ,and the cook of the restraurant so that readers can get a better picture of how MDGJ looks like.

Kalguksu is the most famous menu which is a hot noodle with chicken soup, pork and mandu garnishes. It is very well known food in Korea. However, unlike other kalguksu, Myoungdonggyoja uses chicken to make its soup and I like this chicken based soup very much. This soup looks transparent yellowish because it is made very carefully by removing almost all of its chicken oil. On top of it, there are four dumplings. Those are very thin and small so the soup could soak into them. When I take a bite of it, I feel some kind of warm satisfaction because of beef juice which fills my mouth. And the special flat noodles are chewy and go well with the soup. Besides, there is very special kind of kimchi for it. This kimchi is extremely hot because of much garlic. Literally, kimchi is covered with chopped garlic. However, with kalguksu, it makes a perfect harmony and tastes not that spicy. With a full mouth of this kalguksu, I become the happiest person in the world!

And I expect someday I will go there with my daughter and son and of course with my husband.
