Two Main Airports in Korea

                                                   200903875 Seonyoung Blair Hwang

Korea has gone out of its way to meld international and modern. With this effort to enhance image of Korea as a global and advanced country, people has been recognizing and focusing on the importance of airports as a global hub. As a result of this, two main airports, Kimpo and Incheon international airport was open and has been served as a hub of Asia.

These two airports are both international airport, however, there are some categories can be compared. First, Kimpo airport, which is located Gangseo-gu, Seoul, and about 9 million m2 big, has its long and glorious history. According to the Kimpo airport homepage, it is said that it first has been constructed in 1942 as a military airport. After 16years, in 1958, it became an international airport which can be available to general people. And for about 40 years, Kimpo airport became a leading airport in Korea by inaugurating 71 airways of 28 countries. In 2001, when Incheon airport was completed, it became domestic airport and domestic lines were left only. Comparing to Kimpo airport, Incheon airport boasts its chic urbanity with those buildings. According to Incheon airport homepage, it was 1992 that decide to build a new airport which can be a global hub. It is because Kimpo airport was comparatively small compared to other prominent airports and besides, it was impossible to enlarge the airport because there were residential areas around the airport. After 9 years of efforts, in 2001, it started to take off for the first time. In terms of its size, it is about 50 million m2 which is about 6.5 times bigger than that of Kimpo. And the Incheon airport has been positioning itself as a both global hub and leading airport in the region.

Two main airports in Korea, Kimpo and Incheon put their efforts to provide high quality service and stirring memories for the people who use the airports. Even though they are both international airports, from some point of view that their functions and other facilities are different, it would be worth to compare these two airports.

    3. Yes. The first paragraph shows that the main content is going to be focused on the two airports. THe body paragraph has the main sentence in the beginning that it is going to talk about the contrasting points. The last paragraph sums up the whole writing.
    4. Yes. However, the writer started off with a broad topic sentence and broke it down to many points of contrasting points.
    5. THere are enough interesting details to support the contrasting ideas.
    6. she used Comparing to, as one of the connectors..but i can't really find much connectors in her writing. It would make the writing very smooth once connectors are added.

They not only serve thousands and millions people by aircrafts, but also deliver tons of cargos inside and outside of Korea. Although the two airports are both international airport, there are some differences between the two airports and categories can be compared.
