The 'Harry Potter' and the 'Lord of the Rings'

When I was young, I was hooked up to a imagination that there could be an another world that we don't acknowledge of. Therefore, for me, it was so fascinating when the novel 'Harry Potter' series appeared on the bookstore. Similar with 'Harry Potter' series but different, 'Lord of the Rings' is also one of the novels that I've read with enthusiasm. These two are quite similar but also has its one characteristic which makes it a very interesting subject to compare and contrast.

'Harry Potter' series, in total seven of it, is a continuing story which the characters inside the book go for an adventure. 'Lord of the Rings' is also a novel which has a story that continues as it goes on, also characters inside the book going for an adventure and fight with the evil side. They are also similar that the subject inside each book is based on the writer's imagination, a fantasy. The 'Harry Potter' series talks about witches and wizards world, whereas in the 'Lord of the Rings', it talks about elves, wizards, humans and so on. The structure of the story is similar also. For instance, in the 'Harry Potter' novel there is a main character and two friends and others who help the main character 'Harry' go through an impossible mission. Similar with this, in the novel 'Lord of the Rings', there is a main character 'Prodo' and his friends and others who also help him establish an impossible mission.

The 'Harry Potter' story is about a witches and wizard's world that exists next to the human's, except that we, normal humans don't acknowledge of the other world. However, in the 'Lord of the Rings' there is a world for each species, for example, for the human, for the elves and so one that coexist together. Moreover, in the 'Harry Potter' story, the story continues as the characters inside the book grows. As they grow up the story changes also. In the 'Lord of the Rings' however, the characters doesn't grow old but the story just continues as a one big adventure. On the aspect of fighting the evil side, in the 'Harry Potter' novel, 'Harry' is the one who actually fights the evil, even though the character gets help from many people. However in the 'Lord of the Rings', the main character who has the destiny to destroy the ring in order to distinguish the evil, can't be seen as actually fighting the evil. The character gets distracted by other creature very often, and in the end, that creature fortunately get rid of the ring.

The 'Harry Potter' and the 'Lord of the Rings' are both very popular novel that is read by many people, and also watched by a lot of people through movies. Both fun and interesting to read, they are still read by a lot of people these days also. They are both very enthusiastic books which lead the readers into a fantasy world and let go of the stress they get from the real world.

    1. What I like about the piece of writing is that both Harry Potter and The Lord of the Rings are my favorites as far as fantasy world and adventures are concerned.

    2. Your main points seems to be compare and contrast two books.

    3. 'I was hooked up to a imagination that there could be an another world that we don't acknowledge of. ' was impressive because we all the people have imagination of the another world and it seems like you described it well.

4.'The character gets distracted by other creature very often, and in the end, that creature fortunately get rid of the ring.' is unclear. I think you should indicate what 'the character' and 'the creature' clearly.

    5. While comparison was well organized and clear, contrast paragraph is kind of confusing. There is a need to show clear relationship between the two books.
