Harry Potter and Twilight

'          Out of all the fantasy movies I enjoy reading, Harry Potter and the Twilight are two of my favorites. These two amazing books are even made into films which have become popular globally. Despite, some several similarities, there are also contrasting points when comparing two stories. However, I enjoy how both of these books are such a page turner for me every time as I immerse into reading them many times.

There are interesting similarities within the two different story books. First of all, both books are obviously fantasy books which involve magical and superficial powers which accelerate interesting imaginations to the readers. A variety of different characters have superficial powers for self defense, most of them are born with the powers they acquire, but at the same time, protagonists of both stories have unfortunate childhood experiences such as the death or the separation of the character's parents. Moreover, Harry potter and the Twilight have heroic protagonists. For example, Harry Potter defeats malicious enemies like Voldemort and deathly monsters by brandishing the wand and casting magical spells. Also, in Twilight, protagonist Bella manages to escape from evil vampires who are always thirsty for human blood, almost getting hit by a car, and being attacked by fierce werewolves. On top of that, there are romances among the main characters. To be more specific, Harry falls in love with an Asian girl named Cho, Hermiony and Ron starts having feelings toward each other, when in twilight, normal human being Bella, vampire Edwards, and werewolf Jakob has a triangle love which creates different conflicts throughout the entire story.

While there are such similarities throughout two books, I found out that there are interesting differences among them. The first difference is that, even though both involve superficial powers, their powers are very different. In Harry Potter book, most of the magic is practiced through wands by magicians. There are even normal human beings called 'muggles' who use some sort of magic and is capable of attending Hogwarts, the school of magic. However, normal human beings in Twilight don't have any special powers, while Vampires and werewolves have their original power of sucking blood, running fast, mind reading and predicting the future. Also, these magicians in Harry potter book are born as magicians, but in Twilight, normal people can become a vampire once they are bitten by them. The last thing I noticed was that In Harry Potter book, the place for magicians and normal people are very different. For instance, protagonists have to go to school which is solely made to educate magicians. However, in Twilight, vampires and werewolves hide their true self and live among normal people.

As you can see how many similarities and comparison points I have mentioned above, I love reading these two books. I even consider these authors as a true genius fantasy writer of all times. Although there are some points that could have been written better, I believe that both of them have wonderful scenario, interesting characters, and even a great ending to every series they wrote. These books are not just simple fantasy books. They can be read again and again by millions of readers around the world and hopefully they will be well known to our future generations.

  1. 1. What I like about this piece of writing is explanation of body paragraphs.
    2. Your main point seems to be comparison and contrast between Harry Potter and Twilight.
    3. ‘However, I enjoy how both of these books are such a page turner for me every time as I immerse into reading them many times.’ ; I like them because it gives me clear reason that she chose these books.
    4. 'while Vampires and werewolves have their original power of sucking blood, running fast, mind reading and predicting the future.' As far as I read, only few people have special talent as reading minds and predicting the future. I don’t think all vampires can do those things.

    2. Your main point seems to be comparison and contrast between two novels namely “Harry Potter and Twilight”.
    3. These particular words or lines struck me as powerful:
Words or lines- how both of these books are such a page turner for me every time as I immerse into reading them many times.
I like them because the reader gets spell bounded by these two books.
    4. Some things aren’t clear to me. These lines or parts could be improved (meaning not clear, supporting points missing, order seems mixed up, and writing not lively):
Lines or parts- As you can see how many similarities and comparison points I have mentioned above,
Need improving because this is not written lively. It should be like that “As you can see I have mentioned so many similar and dissimilar points in the above paragraphs.
    5. The one change you could make that would make the biggest improvement in this piece of writing is that the writer should focus on sentence structure.
