ReplyDelete1. I persoanally like the whole introduction paragraph of your essay. Especially, your thesis statement immediately caught my eye. As a student who once dreamed of becoming a professional interpreter, (not anymore;) I found your essay to be very imformative.
2 .This essay is about two effective ways to become proficient in foreign languages and a competent interpreter.
3. I like this sentence “To become the best interpreter, a person must make a ceaseless efforts in practicing language.” As a language major, I know from my own experience that this holds true. There is no end to the study of languages. To become fluent in foreign languages, one must work his ass off for many, many years. There’s no way around it.
4. I don’t understand quite well this sentence,” Compared with other students, she had difficulty in intuition of language.” I think it would be better if you could expound on what intuition of language means and add a couple of examples.
5. I think this essay is really close to perfect, but If you include a couple of interesting anecdotes of the interpreter, Choi Jung Hwa , your essay will be much more interesting and you’ll probably get brownie points for that^^

ReplyDelete1. What I like about this piece of writing is that the witer wrote thesis statements in a strong way that cathches the reader eyes. Especially, in the introduction paragraph, it really triggered my interest.
3. Your main point seems to be that there are two ways to become fluent in a certain language. (and a lot of effort too!)
4. The sentence, 'For interpreter, this simple truth need to get what they want' wasn't clear to me. I think it would be better if you change this sentence into details about how the interpreter worked hard to achieve the natural pronounciation.
5. In my opinion, if the writer delete some information that keeps appearing again and add some details about the subject that the writer wants to talk about, then this whole essay would be a lot better. :D
